The Antigua and Barbuda Falcons are playing against the Trinbago Knight Riders in the eighth match of the CPL 2024 at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua. The Falcons were put into bat after Kieron Pollard, the skipper of the Trinbago Knight Riders, won the toss. 

Falcons failed to build on the start given by Fakhar and Greaves

The Falcons made an excellent start to their innings as their openers, Fakhar Zaman and Justin Greaves, gave them a speedy start. The duo had put on 65 runs on the board in the first 5.4 overs, and it looked like they would lay a strong foundation for a big total. However, Justin Greaves was dismissed in the fifth ball of the over, courtesy of Nicholas Pooran's brilliant effort behind the stumps. 


As Greaves walked out of the ground and the next batter came in, some curious scenes were to be seen in the ground. Fakhar Zaman and Sunil Narine were seen having a chat during this interval. The gestures made by the Pakistani batter suggested that the discussion between the two could have been about spin bowling or how the ball was behaving on the wicket. Although it is not clear what the chat was about, to the outsider, it might have looked like Fakhar Zaman giving Narine some tips on bowling. 

Imad Wasim took the Falcons to a fighting toital

The Falcons, even after getting a brilliant start, failed to build on the momentum. Their progress was stunted in the middle overs, and they would fall well short of a par total in the game. However, Imad Wasim continued his batting form in the tournament, playing a brilliant knock to take his team to a fighting total. Wasim remained scored 46 off 29 as the Falcons posted 176/6 at the end of their 20 overs.
