South Africa's legendary batter Faf du Plessis avoided an injury scare after suffering a deadly collision with a ball boy in the ongoing Abu Dhabi T10 league. The batter, who shifted his base from RCB to DC in the IPL 2025 auction, nearly sustained a career-threatening injury as he fell awkwardly while saving a boundary for his side.

The incident occurred during the eighth over of Delhi Bulls' innings when they were chasing a 113-run total against Morrisville Samp Army. As Delhi's explosive finisher Tim David changed his gears, the Samp Army's skipper Rohan Mustafa brought Isuru Udana to deceive him using his tricks.

However, the strategy backfired on Morrisville, with David hammering the left-arm pacer for two consecutive boundaries. After hitting him for a huge six, David dispatched Udana's final ball to the fence, collecting four runs for his side.

From over the wicket, Udana bowled a back-of-the-length slower ball, which David tried to muscle in the off side. Although he managed a thick outside edge, the shot had just enough power to breach the fence. Faf du Plessis tried his best to save a boundary only to see the ball cross the ropes at the very last moment.

His desperate dive resulted in his deadly collision with the ball boy, who miraculously lifted him and made him fall behind the digital advertising board.
