Joburg Super Kings (JSK) captain Faf du Plessis, known for his calm demeanor, was furious with MI Cape Town (MICT) skipper Kieron Pollard and his countrymate Kagiso Rabada as both MI players tried to intentionally delay the proceedings in ongoing SA20 League 2024.

Regardless of the tournament, be it IPL or SA20 League, matches between Super Kings and MI are expected to be intense with plenty of drama. Such an event unfolded at Newlands yesterday.

The incident took place during the second innings of the rain-curtailed match. Chasing a target of 98 runs from 8 overs, Du Plessis and Leus du Plooy batted aggressively against MI. Sensing the game slipping away, Pollard decided to waste time.

Du Plessis, visibly furious, confronted the MI team, rushing to the umpires to voice his concerns. Despite this, Pollard persisted, repeatedly walking onto the pitch during deliveries for the next two overs and making arbitrary field changes to consume more time.

Pollard even interrupted Sam Curran while he was about to deliver a ball in the fifth over. At one point, Faf was heard expressing his dismay, saying, 'No, no, Polly.' Fortunately, the rain eased enough for JSK to complete the chase in 5.2 overs.

Despite Pollard's attempts, Super Kings successfully chased down the target of 98 runs in less than 6 overs.
