In a major setback ahead of the second Test against England, India lost Ravindra Jadeja to a hamstring injury. Moreover, amid uncertainty over a return timeline, the all-rounder reached NCA for swift rehabilitation.

Ravindra Jadeja, arguably one of the finest spin all-rounders in the country, has been a core of the Indian senior cricket team across all formats for several years. His significant contributions with the bat and the ball guided India to several memorable victories.

However, fate hasn’t been kind to Jadeja. After every strong comeback, the all-rounder falls prey to an injury, which leads to a long layoff. In 2022, Jadeja missed the T20 World Cup and returned in national colors after a wait of nearly six months.

Meanwhile, just when Jadeja had found his groove, he once again endured a serious injury. During the first Test against England in Hyderabad, the all-rounder pulled his hamstring while escaping a run-out threat.

Not only did Jadeja fail to foil the run-out attempt, but he also ended up rupturing his hamstring muscle.

Subsequently, BCCI ruled him out of the second Test versus England and appointed Washington Sundar as his immediate replacement.

While the severity of the injury is still unknown, Ravindra Jadeja has reached the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore for rehabilitation. The veteran shared snapshots of his trip via social media account, thus keeping the fans updated throughout his recovery journey.

That being said, it’s still unclear as to how long Jadeja is expected to miss on-field action. Some reports suggest the all-rounder could end up skipping the entire five-game Test series.

However, BCCI and senior team management are yet to issue an official word on the same.

Besides Ravindra Jadeja, KL Rahul was also ruled out of the Vishakhapatnam Test with quadriceps discomfort. His imminent return in the ongoing series also hangs in the balance.
