Bangladesh, who were labelled as the underdogs against South Africa stunned the Proteas at the Nassau Cricket Stadium, as The Tigers, who were asked to field first by Aiden Markram, made the African side sweat hard for runs and restricted them to 113/6 after 20 overs. 

The Najmul Shanto-led side took four early wickets and could have restricted South Africa to a much lesser score had Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller not stitched a 69-run stand for the fifth wicket. Nonetheless, the fans who were in the stadium to support Bangladesh were elated seeing the way bowlers bowled. 

In reply, Bangladesh showed intent to go aggressively but lost two early wickets. The Tigers were 29/2 when experienced Shakib Al Hasan came to bat. The fans were hopeful of Shakib to stay till the end and score the winning runs. However, the ex-captain played a careless shot on an Anrich Nortje delivery, which cost him his wicket. 

On the fourth ball of the 8th over, Nortje tested Shakib with a bouncer and his trick did the work as the southpaw tried to play a pull shot, but found a top edge and Aiden Markram made no mistake.
