Ex-RCB star, Kane Williamson channeled his inner Wasim Akram as he bowled a deadly in-swinger to castle the stumps of Perth Scorchers skipper, Ashton Turner in the Big Bash League (BBL) contest on Tuesday.
The Scorchers batted first and lost wickets at regular intervals as Mitch Marsh and Cooper Connolly were dismissed for ducks. The team actually got off to a decent start with Finn Allen and Aaron Hardie adding quick-fire 25 runs for the first wicket, however, the quick wickets changed the course of the game.
There were many brilliant moments throughout the innings, but Richardson's dismissal of Ashton Turner was the ball of the match. After the fall of early wickets, Turner tried to resurrect the innings, but Richardson had some other plans as he bowled a deadly in-swinger and the batter failed to get a bat on it as the ball beats the inside-edge and castled the stumps.
The delivery reminded fans of how Wasim Akram in his prime days used to knock the stumps with swing bowling.
Renegades in trouble as they lose JFM
Renegades, chasing 148 have already lost 3 wickets inside 10 runs. The ball is doing enough for the pacers and their batters have been found out as Jhye Richardson and Jason Behrendorff have run riot with their exceptional skills.
The carnage was started by dismissing Tim Seifert for a duck, and it was followed by the wicket of Jake Fraser-McGurk as he was also dismissed for duck.
The final nail in the coffin was the scalp of rising star, Jacob Bethell as the RCB star couldn't find his feet and was knocked over for just 2.
