Promising Indian opener Devdutt Padikkal oozed his class in Gulbarga Mystics' ongoing group-stage encounter against Mangaluru Dragons in the Maharaja Trophy T20 tournament. Opening the batting alongside Luvnith Sisodia, Padikkal struck a quick-fire cameo to help the Mystics get a flying start to their innings.

Padikkal, who recently played a breezy knock against Hubli Tigers, hammered two fours and as many sixes for his blistering 17-ball 30.

His glorious six over the wide long-off was a treat to watch as it had sheer elegance to amaze the spectators.

The incident occurred during the second over of the Mystics' innings when Mangaluru captain Shreyas Gopal brought Samarth Nagaraj into the attack.

His decision severely backfired on the Dragons, as Devdutt Padikkal exploited the right-arm pacer to collect a boundary and a six off his bowling.

After hitting a boundary through a leg glance, the southpaw timed an over-pitched delivery to perfection. The ball was so well-timed that it smoothly sailed over the fence, rewarding Padikkal with six runs.

However, the former RCB batter couldn't bring up his fifty, being dismissed for thirty runs by Gopal in the ninth over.

As of writing, the Mystics were in a spot of bother, placed at 83 for three in 13 overs, with Aneesh K V and Wahid Khan batting on 6* and 3*, respectively.
