Australia-born former England cricketer Tim Ambrose snared a sensational catch around the deep midwicket region against West Indies Masters in match five of the IML T20 2025 season. After racing to 77-0 in just seven overs, West Indies Masters opener Dwayne Smith slog-swept a tossed-up delivery from English spinner Chris Schofield.
However, an agile Ambrose held on to the ball just few inches away from the boundary rope to hand Schofield the first of his two wickets of the evening.
Dwayne Smith eventually made his way back to the dugout after listing 35 runs from 25 balls. His opening partner, former West Indies teammate and captain Chris Gayle bludgeoned 39 runs off just 19 deliveries with three boundaries and four sixes as the duo shared 77 quick runs off seven overs.
Narsingh Deonarine also chipped in with 35* off 23 balls, while Ashley Nurse blasted a sizzling 13-ball 29 in the death overs to blaze West Indies Masters to 179-6.
For England, former spinner Monty Panesar grabbed three wickets at an expense of just 14 runs from four overs. Chris Schofield additionally dismissed dangerman Chris Gayle to claim figures of 2-21.
