India's ace pacer Mohammed Siraj finally got his rhythm right on day three of the third BGT Test match, cleaning up Nathan Lyon with a peach at The Gabba in Brisbane. The fast bowler, who erred in his line and length on day 2, bagged his second wicket in form of Lyon during the riveting clash.
The incident occurred in the 117th over of Australia's first innings when the hosts had already reached a formidable total. Lyon's attempt to add few more runs to the tally received a massive blow when the veteran spinner's off stump was shattered by none other than Mohammed Siraj.
From over the wicket, Siraj bowled two consecutive dots to start his over. After bowling a good-length delivery, the right-arm seamer pitched the ball up, angling into Lyon and inviting him for an expansive drive.
As the tail-ender got carried away and fell in Siraj's trap, the ball breached through his defence, castling his middle stump. Before getting dismissed, the experienced bowler contributed only two runs off 30 balls to Australia's tally.
Australia Post A Daunting Total In Brisbane
Riding on Travis Head and Steve Smith's sublime century, Australia posted a challenging score of 445 runs in their first innings of the Brisbane Test. After the first day got washed out due to rain, Head and Smith kept India at bay on the second day, stitching a mammoth stand for the fourth wicket. Apart from these two batters, Alex Carey also scored a valuable fifty, propelling the hosts to a commanding total.
