India batter Rinku Singh celebrated the auspicious occasion of Diwali at his new Aligarh residence last week. Rinku, like most Indian cricketers, uploaded celebratory Diwali photos at home to hint at the same.

The same has now been confirmed by the local authorities. Set to play the first of a four-match T20I series in South Africa tonight, the 27-year-old player acquired possession of his 500-square-yard lavish bungalow worth INR 3.5 crore before leaving the country.

Accompanied by his family members at the Tehsil office on October 30, Rinku underwent smooth completion of all the formalities due to assistance by SDM Digvijay Singh and Sub-Registrar Azad Singh. It was on the evening of the same day when he moved into his new luxurious home.

Rinku, who wears jersey number 35 while representing both India and Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League, now lives in House No. 38, Golden Estate, Ozone City, Aligarh. Interestingly, Rinku’s father, Khanchandra Singh, used to distribute LPG cylinders in the same locality before his son’s rags-to-riches story came to fruition.

For those who don’t know, Golden Estate comprises upscale resort-style residences. As per their website, the project is the “most luxurious gated society” in Aligarh.

Rinku Singh Was KKR’s Top Retention Last Week

Slated to play his eighth season in a row for the Knight Riders, the left-handed batter was their top retention last week. Announced on Diwali day, KKR announced Rinku’s salary to be INR 13 crore from IPL 2025 onward.

One of the two franchises to have retained the maximum allowed limit of six players, Knight Riders also retained the likes of Varun Chakravarthy (INR 12 crore), Sunil Narine (INR 12 crore), Andre Russell (INR 12 crore), Harshit Rana (INR 4 crore) and Ramandeep Singh (INR 4 crore).

A Grade C player in BCCI’s Annual Contract List, Rinku earned INR 1 crore for his involvement with the national team in the 2023-2024 season. However, it is the first time when he will be earning in crores in an IPL season.

Bought by Kolkata for the first time during IPL 2018 auction, Rinku used to earn INR 80 lakh per season back in the day. That said, his IPL salary had reduced to INR 55 lakh since IPL 2022. Adding the INR 10 lakh which he earned at Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) during IPL 2017, Rinku has accumulated a grand total of INR 4.95 crore though his IPL earnings till date.
