Young Indian wicket-keeper. Dhruv Jurel, who first caught the public eye during his thrilling debut in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 for Rajasthan Royals, is now creating ripples in Sri Lanka as part of the India A team for the ACC Mens Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2023.

Dhruv Jurel takes a blinder for IND A against UAE A

After an impressive IPL that marked him as a youngster to watch out for in the cricketing panorama, his performance turned heads in the India A versus UAE A match on Friday.

Winning the toss, India A opted to bowl first and succeeded in limiting UAE A to 175/9 in 50 overs. The highlight of the innings was Jurel's stunning catch off Harshit Rana's bowling to dismiss Ansh Tandon for 5.

Despite a wayward delivery from Rana, Jurel showed magnificent wicketkeeping skills and athleticism to pluck the ball out of the air after the batter nicked the delivery down the leg.

In response, India A bagged a clinical victory, thanks to captain Yash Dhull, whose century helped the Boys in Blue get off the mark remarkably.

It is worth mentioning that Jurel's performance in the IPL included several noteworthy knocks under pressure. His IPL debut was memorable, nearly producing a successful chase for the Royals with an unbeaten 32 off 15 balls. His IPL strike rate of 172.73 during the tournament was commendable, providing the needed thrust to the Royals' middle order.

Although Jurel is yet to showcase his talents in a 50-over game, his exceptional performance in the 2022-23 Ranji Trophy season where he scored 429 runs at an average of 71.5 indicates his ability to play big knocks.
