An all-round performance from Rajasthan Royals (RR) last evening helped them dethrone Chennai Super Kings (CSK) from the number one spot in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 points table, handing them a crushing 32-run defeat in Jaipur.

Openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler got the Royals off to a flier, where the former did most of the scoring. Jaiswal slammed 77 off 43 before Dhruv Jurel's heroics propelled Rajashtan past the 200-run mark.

Former England player Kevin Pietersen has praised Rajasthan's batters for their performance against CSK. The former RR player especially lauded Jurel, who the explosive batter feels is an unbelievable talent.

Here's what Pietersen said

"It was incredible, they (RR) did everything right. It was almost what you expect from a team that plays at home because you want to make your home ground your fortress.

It is very difficult for the opposition to dominate. Jaiswal and Jos Buttler started beautifully, they (RR) finished the innings off well with Dhruv Jurel unbelievable, I mean what a talent that kid is."

Jurel has been a revelation for the Sanju Samson-led side this season, having scored 130 runs at a strike rate of 196.96, while coming out to bat in pressure situations.  The hard-hitting wicketkeeper-batter was the vice-captain of India's Under-19 team that reached the final of the ICC u-19 World Cup 2020, and amassed 736 runs in his maiden Cooch Behar Trophy season.

Table-toppers Rajasthan will travel to Mumbai to play against the Mumbai Indians on Sunday.
