Riding on an incredible all-round performance from their players, Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in a one-sided IPL 2024 final to clinch the coveted trophy. 

Venkatesh Iyer emerged as the hero for the Knight Riders, helping them chase the sub-par 114-run target with a tremendous 52*-run knock. 

The incident occurred during the eleventh over when KKR were already on the verge of an emphatic victory, courtesy of a scintillating stand between Iyer and Rahmanullah Gurbaz.

Bowling the third over of his spell, left-arm spinner Shahbaz Ahmed conceded two singles off his first two deliveries. His third delivery was a full-length ball as Venkatesh went for an aggressive slog sweep over the on-side. 

However, he could only edge it behind the stumps, with SRH wicket-keeper Heinrich Klaasen failing to collect the ball. As a result, the KKR batters stole the winning single, helping their side get past the finish line. 

Soon after KKR won the IPL 2024 final, SRH owner Kavya Maran was captured in a heartbroken state in the stands. 

Although she was let down by her team's abysmal performance in the all-important final, Kavya showed a huge heart by applauding the opponent instantly. 

This marked KKR's third IPL title, the only team after Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings to achieve the feat.
