Riding on Mitchell Starc's sensational opening spell, Kolkata Knight Riders had a memorable start to the IPL 2024 final against Sunrisers Hyderabad at M.A Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. 

After dismissing Abhishek Sharma with a peach in his first over, Starc got rid of Rahul Tripathi, who had exhibited scintillating form prior to the final. 

The incident occurred during the fifth over of SRH's innings when they had already lost both their openers. After starting his over with a dot ball, Starc bowled a full-length delivery, which Tripathi tried to heave away in the on side. 

However, as he played a cross-batted shot, the aggressive batter only managed to get an outside edge, with the ball hanging in the air for a long time. 

Ramandeep Singh, known for his excellent fielding skills, judged the ball properly before catching it inside the thirty yard circle. 

As soon as Tripathi departed, SRH skipper Pat Cummins and owner Kavya Maran expressed their disappointment. While Cummins was stunned, Kavya was visibly upset by the way the Maharashtra batter gifted his wicket. 

Meanwhile, Aiden Markram and Nitish Kumar Reddy have upped the ante for the Sunrisers. As of writing, the Orange Army were 46 for three in 6.2 overs.
