India women are taking on New Zealand women in the third and final ODI of the three-match series at the Narendra Modi Stadium. New Zealand women won the toss, batted first in the game, and posted a fighting total of 232 on the board.
Even though New Zealand have reached a competitive total, it did not look like they will be able to score so much at one stage. The Indian bowlers started brilliantly and reduced New Zealand to 88/5 within the 24th over of the innings.
Halliday and Gaze brought New Zealand back into the match
However, at this stage, Brooke Halliday and Isabella Gaze stitched together a partnership of 64 runs. This partnership got New Zealand out of the pressure situation. It looked like they would take the game beyond India. However, Deepti Sharma picked up Gaze's wicket at this stage and allowed India to return to the game.

On the fourth delivery of the 39th over, Sharma bowled a full toss at the off and middle stump line. Gaze tried to scoop the ball over the bowler towards long-off for a single. However, she did not get the timing right, which ended up being a half-chance for Deepti. The Indian all-rounder timed his jump perfectly and took a brilliant catch to send Gaze back to the hut.
Although the wicket of Gaze slowed down the Kiwis, Brooke Halliday held one end and ensured that they reached a fighting total. She played a dazzling knock of 86 runs off 96 deliveries and played the leading role in taking her team to 232.
