In what could be described as a once-a-blue-moon knock, Rajasthan captain Deepak Hooda slammed a magnificent 180 in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2023 Semi-Final clash against Karnataka.

Hooda came into bat, with his side tottering on one for 2, and then singlehandedly championed the chase for Rajasthan, who were in pursuit of 283 runs. Hooda notched up his fifty in 53 balls and went on to score his sixth List-A hundred in 85 deliveries before turning up the heat and reaching his 150th run in only 108 balls.

The out-of-favour Indian batter went to score 180 off 128 balls, which included 19 fours and five towering sixes. Hooda in alliance with Karan Lamba, stitched a memorable 255-run stand for the fourth wicket, which helped his side cruise into the tournament final.

Lamba remained unbeaten on 73 runs, and had seven fours, in 112 balls, enabling Rajasthan's six-wicket win.

Batting first Karnataka, courtesy of Abhinav Manohar and Manoj Bhandage managed to reach 282 in their 50 overs, while for Rajasthan, Aniket Choudhary and Kukna Ajay Singh starred claiming two wickets apiece.

Interestingly, Hooda's 180 is also his highest in List-A cricket, bettering his earlier highest individual score of 161.

Overall, in 92 List-A matches, Hooda has 2,890 runs with six centuries and 15 fifties having made his debut in 2014. Meanwhile, Rajasthan will face Haryana in the final on December 16 at Rajkot.
