On Thursday, the South African wizard Tabraiz Shamsi put a duly break to the daunting-looking partnership between Suyakumar Yadav and Yashasvi Jaiswal, as the youngster perished on 60 after holing it to the deep.

After adding 112 runs to the third wicket stand, Jaiswal played one too many strokes against the Proteas' go-to man, looking to accelerate his innings after notching yet another fifty in the shortest format.

However, captain Aiden Markram's move to bring Shamsi - back into the attack - worked like a charm as he removed one of the set batters despite getting smacked for a maximum earlier in the over.

After two timely wickets in the powerplay, Suryakumar joined forces with young Jaiswal in the third over itself. The duo added 112 runs in just 71 balls in what is a do-or-die clash of the series for India.

During the partnership, the Rajasthan Royals batter took the role of the aggressor at the start, with SKY playing the role of the anchor. However, when the Indian skipper turned on the heat, Jaiswal had to take the back seat, scoring just 17 runs in the last 17 balls of his knock.

Nevertheless, at the time of writing, Suryakumar is batting with Rinku Singh in the middle, with the scoreboard reading 173-3 after 17 overs.
