[Watch] DC Opener Jake Fraser-McGurk Walks Back In Frustration After Series Of Failures

Jake Fraser-McGurk turned plenty of heads during IPL 2024 and was the show-stopper for Delhi Capitals with his swashbuckling strokeplay. He scored 330 runs in 9 innings with four fifties and scored his runs and a stunning strike-rate of 234.04.

Since then he has been the centre of attraction and has played T20Is and ODI cricket for Australia. However, his returns have been pretty mediocre and the aggressive opener is now struggling in Big Bash with just 55 runs in five innings.

In the 20th match of the season between Melbourne Renegades and Adelaide Strikers, McGurk could muster only one run off three balls and departed on the first ball of the third over. It was a lovely delivery by Brendan Doggett that squared up McGurk completely.

Jake Fraser McGurk's Failure - A Big Problem For DC

A good-length ball, around off and it nipped away after pitching. Jake Fraser-McGurk just made a tentative poke and ended up getting an outside edge which was easily caught by the wicketkeeper Ollie Pope behind the stumps.

McGurk, on the other hand, looked like a frustrated man as he walked off the field. He has not been able to get going throughout the season, despite trying hard, and these are danger signs for his IPL team, Delhi Capitals. DC used RTM card for Jake Fraser-McGurk and bought him for 9 Crore and is expected to be a big part of their plans in the upcoming season.
