In the fifth match of the ongoing BPL 2024-25, held at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka, the Durbar Rajshahi took on the Dhaka Capitals. After winning the toss, Dhaka Capitals opted to bat first, a decision that quickly backfired.

Star batter Litton Das was dismissed for a five-ball duck by Taskin Ahmed, who delivered an exceptional performance. It happened during the second ball of the second over. Taskin bowled a perfect Test-match-length delivery, angling into the right-hander and then moving away after pitching. 

The ball gained extra bounce, catching Litton off-guard. He tried to defend but the ball hit the shoulder of his bat and went straight to the first slip, where the fielder Yasir Ali safely held onto the catch.

Initially, Litton seemed hesitant to leave the field, but after a brief discussion between the umpires, he was sent off, marking an early blow for the Capitals.

It is important to note that Litton Das is in contention for the Bangladesh T20I captaincy, as Najmul Hossain Shanto has stepped down, according to Criccbuzz reports.

Taskin Strikes Again For Durbar Rajshahi

Taskin struck again later in the innings, removing Tanzid Hasan for 5 runs off 7 balls. At the time of writing, Dhaka Capitals are at 88-2 after 10 overs, with Stephen Eskinazi (46*) and Shahadat Hossain Dipu (31*) steadying the ship.
