Daryl Mitchell has been one of the most consistent batters in world cricket across formats for couple of years now. He was bought by CSK ahead of IPL 2024, and has done decently for them as well. However, a big score has been missing from his IPL CV, and once again against Punjab Kings he failed to convert his start. and departed on 30.

In the match 53 of IPL 2024 between Punjab Kings and Chennai Super Kings, PBKS won the toss and decided to bowl first. CSK lost Ajinkya Rahane early, but Mitchell came out with intent at number 3 and counter-attacked. 

He scored 30 off 19 balls with two fours and a six in it, but Harshal Patel got the better of him on the fifth ball of the 10th over after CSK had lost Gaikwad and Dube couple of overs back.

It was a length delivery from Harshal Patel, angling into middle and leg and Daryl Mitchell who tried to flick it, missed it completely. 

The ball hit his pad and after a loud appeal, the umpire raised the finger. The Kiwi though decided to take the DRS, and the Ball Tracking showed Umpire's Call on wicket's hitting to leave Mitchell fuming as he thought that the ball is missing the stumps.
