Varun Chakaravarthy has been a consistent performer for KKR for quite a few years now, and in IPL 2024 as well, he is showing his might with flurry of variations. In the 51st match of IPL 2024 between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders, he once again joined the party and took crucial wickets, one of it being of Tilak Varma.

It was the ninth over of KKR's innings, and Varun Chakaravarthy bowled a flighted delivery, outside off. Varma tried to drive it but got a big outside edge and the ball ended up going straight into the hands of Sunil Narine at short third man.

His wicket was a big blow to MI who were already struggling and it was only Suryakumar Yadav who showed some fight and scored a valiant 56 off 35 balls. Rest of the batters faltered big time though, and Starc produced a vintage spell in the end as he picked three wickets in a single over to shut down MI for just 145, scripting a memorable 24-run victory for KKR.

It is KKR's first win at Wankhede after 12 long years, and with this win they have consolidated the number 2 position on the points table.
