The incident occurred during the penultimate set of Oval Invincibles' innings when Villiers was trying to ensure a fitting finish for them alongside Laura Harris. The Invincibles had already lost five crucial wickets, struggling to get going in the slog overs.

After Lauren  Winfield-Hill was dismissed for 17 by Sarah Glenn, Marizanne Kapp and Alice Capsey failed to convert their starts into big scores.

So, all eyes were on Mady Villiers, as she was expected to contribute crucial runs down the order.

However, Charlie Dean emerged as the saviour for the Spirit, dismissing the right-handed batter for a run-a-ball three.

From over the wicket, Dean bowled a full-length delivery around the middle stump, as Villiers went for an aggressive shot over the leg side field.

However, she couldn't get the elevation, with Gibson taking a sensational running catch in the deep midwicket.

Riding on Dean's sensational spell, the Spirit reduced the Invincibles to 113/9 in 100 balls. If they chase the target, London will face Welsh Fire in the final of the competition.
