The 32nd match of The Hundred 2024 between Birmingham Phoenix Women and Manchester Originals Women was graced by the sheer skill of Amy Jones. Her beautiful boundary off Phoebe Graham was a display of cricketing excellence that left the audience in awe.

On the 66th ball, Graham bowled a good length delivery just outside the off. Jones stayed deep and played a lofted drive over mid-on for a four. The ball trickled away towards the fence with no fielder in the deep. The right-hander slammed a magnificent shot.

Unfortunately, the Birmingham Phoenix Women were at 98/2 when the weather took a turn for the worse, pelting down at Edgbaston, Birmingham, and halting the play.

Despite the disappointment of a no-result in the last league-stage fixture of the Women’s Hundred competition due to persistent rain in Birmingham, the game was a dead rubber anyway, as both teams were already out of contention for the top three.

Earlier in the game, after opting to bat first, Birmingham Phoenix Women had posted 98 off 70 balls for losing two wickets. Birmingham skipper Ellyse Perry was unbeaten on 45 off 39 balls, while Amy Jones was not out on 13 off 12 before the rain took over.
