Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins grabbed the limelight by setting an example of sportsmanship in the ongoing IPL 2024 clash against Chennai Super Kings. The incident occurred towards the backend of CSK's innings when they were struggling to finish things on a high note, with Ravindra Jadeja and Daryl Mitchell in the middle.

Bhuveneshwar Kumar bowled an inch-perfect yorker as Jadeja nudged it straight towards him. As soon as the veteran speedster collected the ball, he threw it back towards the striker's end, with Jadeja out of the popping crease.

But unfortunately, the CSK all-rounder couldn't get away from the line of the throw, eventually being struck on his back while returning to the crease.

As such incidents come under 'obstructing the field', the SRH players were excited, expecting Jadeja's prized breakthrough.

However, Cummins showed a big heart by not appealing for the dismissal, giving Jadeja a lifeline and earning massive applause for upholding the spirit of the game.

Regarding the match, CSK posted a modest 165-run total despite Shivam Dube's valiant effort in the middle overs. In response, the hosts got off to a flyer, courtesy of Abhishek Sharma's fireworks in the powerplay.

As of writing, they were 91 for one in 8.1 overs, with Travis Head and Aiden Markram batting in the middle.
