In the ongoing match between Stallions-PAK and Markhors-PAK in PAK T20 Cup 2024, Iftikhar Ahmed has hogged the internet after being involved in a second run-out dismissal in two consecutive games. The 34-year-old, featuring for Markhors, fell short of the crease after a brilliant work by keeper Mohammad Haris. Notably, on the 4th ball of the 14th over, Muhammad Shahzad flicked a delivery towards the leg-side and ran with the intention of a double.

However, Iftikhar jogged towards the strikers-end and then had to rush to return for a second after he saw Shahzad halfway through the pitch sprinting to complete a double. 

The throw was made towards the keeper's end, and Haris saw Iftikhar struggling to return to the non-striker's end. It was a brilliant throw, and it hit the stumps. Iftikhar was short of the crease, and his intention was also questioned as he didn't put his 100% in that double. 

Following the dismissal, Ahmed was unhappy with Shahzad's decision and also expressed it with a gesture.

Ahmed Run-Out For The 2nd Time In A Row

It is the second consecutive game in which Ahmed has been found short of his crease. In Markhor's previous match against the Dolphins, he got run out after a brilliant throw from the fielder. His innings ended on 5, as his slowness on the crease didn't help his cause at all.

Iftikhar has had a mixed tournament so far as he shone in the first match against Lions where he smashed 42 (34). Since then, he has registered two single digit scores and amassed just 12. runs in the last two innings.
