Pakistan's Iftikhar Ahmed is in the limelight again during the Champions T20 Cup 2024 as the experienced middle-order batter, while representing Markhors, got run out after a brilliant throw from the fielder. His innings ended on 5, as his slowness on the crease didn't help his cause at all.

The 34-year-old captaining Markhors in this tournament couldn't play the winning knock for his side when they were 73 for three down in pursuit of 129. It all happened in the ninth over, bowled by Salman Irshad as Iftikhar tried to steal a single on the final delivery.

However, Mohammad Suleman, with his direct hit and agile work, ensured that Ahmed was out of his crease when the bails were dislodged with a brilliant effort at the non-striker's end.

Iftikhar seemed to be always struggling as replays confirmed the same, ending his struggle at the crease with just five runs after his name from 13 balls. The right-hander, who is known to smack massive sixes, failed miserably in this game, putting his team under a lot of pressure.

Markhors Defeat Dolphins In A Thriller

Asked to bat, the Dolphins were able to put just 128 on the board for the loss of nine wickets, with Mohammad Nawaz picking three wickets to his name. In reply, Markhors, powered by a fine inning from Khawaja Nafay, who changed the match's complexion with his brilliant 68, helped his side achieve the total with seven balls to spare and two wickets remaining.

The Markhors now stand at second position on the points table, with the Dolphins at the bottom of the table.
