MI leg-spinner Piyush Chawla is making significant strides in limiting Sunrisers Hyderabad's (SRH) scoring potential. Mumbai Indians (MI) won the toss and elected to bowl first against the Orange Army in the 55th match of IPL 2024 on Monday, May 6.

Chawla seized the pivotal wicket for MI, dismissing Travis Head after he scored 48 runs. The 35-year-old spinner struck again in the 13th over of the match, removing the six-hitting machine, Heinrich Klaasen scoring two runs.

The dismissal of Klaasen was a crucial moment for the Mumbai contingent, as the SRH dangerous batsman was sent back to the pavilion. Rohit Sharma and the Mumbai fans were seen happy as they knew how big this wicket was.

Chawla bowled a flighted leg-break around off, landing it on a good length. Klaasen attempted a slog across the line but ended up edging the ball onto his leg stump. Chawla looked visibly pleased after claiming this vital wicket.

At the time of writing, Mumbai Indians were at 100 for 5 in 15 overs, with Shahbaz Ahmed and Marco Jansen at the crease.
