Mumbai Indias (MI) won the toss and opted to bowl first in the reverse fixture against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The MI skipper made a significant change in the playing XI, replacing the South African pacer Gerald Coetzee with Anshul Kamboj.
Anshul Kamboj, the 23-year-old all-rounder from Haryana, will debut against Pat Cummins' SRH on May 6th in the 55th match of the IPL 2024.
The young MI boy was picked by Mumbai Indians ahead of this season at a base price of INR 20 lakh. The youngster has played nine T20 matches, taken 11 wickets, and scored 22 runs with the bat.
With only three wins and eight defeats, Mumbai are placed tenth on the points table. They desperately need a win to maintain their pride as the five-time champion have a slight chance of qualifying for the playoffs, while SRH are on fourth on the table, with six wins and four losses.
If Mumbai Indians need to qualify and stay in contention, they need to win all the remaining matches this season.
