The high-voltage Women's Asia Cup final between India and Sri Lanka saw a moment of sheer brilliance by skipper Chamari Athapaththu.

Her exceptional bowling skills were on full display as she removed Uma Chetry in a heartbeat for just nine runs, a crucial wicket that shifted the momentum of the game.

In the 9th over, Athapaththu bowled a full-length delivery on the middle stump. Chetry got down on one knee for a sweep. Unfortunately, she missed it on the inside edge and got pinged on the front pad. The umpire quickly lifted her finger and gave Chetry an 'OUT'.

The Dambulla crowd erupted in cheers as Chamari Athapaththu struck on the first ball, ending Uma Chetry's innings.

After winning the toss, Harmanpreet Kaur opted to bat first. Women In Blue started strong, however, as they faced the first blow when Shafali Verma had to walk back, followed by Uma Chetry, who departed. All this while, Smriti Mandhana, under immense pressure, kept her calm and just smashed her second fifty of the tournament in the need of the hour.

India Women are at 94/3, with Jemimah Rodrigues and Mandhana taking charge in the middle.
