New Zealand and Sri Lanka face off in the second ODI of the three-match series at Seddon Park in Hamilton. While Sri Lanka are looking to win the game and keep the series alive, the hosts are keen on sealing it with a convincing display in the game. 

The visitors won the toss for this game and opted to field first. New Zealand did not have a good start to the innings as they lost Will Young in the fifth over of the innings.

After the fall of the first wicket, there was a stellar partnership between Mark Chapman and Rachin Ravindra off 112 runs. The duo stabilised the proceedings for the team and set the foundation for a formidable total.

Ravindra brought up his half-century with a brilliant maximum and seemed to continue after that. Even after the dismissal of Mark Chapman, Ravindra was determined to continue. However, as he was nearing a blazing Hundred, he fell to a moment of fielding brilliance by the Sri Lankan skipper.

Charith Asalanka Takes A Superb Catch To Send Ravindra Back

On the last ball of the 23rd over, Wanindu Hasaranga bowled a good length delivery at the off-stump line, which was a wrong one. Ravindra tried to slash the ball through the off side of the back foot. As he played the shot, the ball flew in the air, travelling past Charith Asalanka at cover. 

The Sri Lankan skipper dived into the air and timed it perfectly to take a stunning catch. This effort brought about a momentum shift in the game as Ravindra was looking dangerous in the middle, and if he stayed longer, he could have taken the total out of Sri Lanka's reach.
