After a horrific and forgetful Tour of Australia, India now looks forward to the upcoming assignment at home. India are all set to lock horns with England in a multi-format series starting from 22 January. With only a few days left before the clash begins, fans eagerly await to see the squads for this series.

Kohli-Rohit To Return Despite Poor Form

As per latest reports, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma and head coach Gautam Gambhir are all set  to retain their roles despite the team's disappointing performance in the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The report by IANS reveals that while Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is not planning to make changes after the 3-1 series loss against Australia, there is however a review meeting expected to take place in order to evaluate the tour.

Rohit Sharma managed to score only 31 runs from five innings with a worrying average of 6.20. On the other hand, while Virat Kohli did slam a century in the Perth Test match, he too flopped terribly in the games thereafter after he struggled to overcome his similar dismissals debacle.

Australia Snatch WTC from India

India's tour of Australia ended with a dramatic series loss in a hard-fought five-match Test series. The visitors started strongly with a thrilling win in Perth, but Australia fought back in the following games. India faced a series of setbacks, with key players like struggling with form and injuries.

After a rain-affected draw in Brisbane, India couldn't capitalize on their chances in Melbourne, where they lost the fourth Test despite holding firm for a while. With Bumrah’s fitness a concern, India’s hopes for the series decider in Sydney faded, as their bowlers struggled without him. Australia seized control and clinched the win, securing their second consecutive World Test Championship final spot.
