Glenn Maxwell bowling at Usman Khawaja (X.com)
For both club and country, Glenn Maxwell has the habit of taking wickets in critical situations over the years. While captaining Melbourne Stars on Thursday (December 7) during their Big Bash League (BBL) opener against Brisbane Heat, the star all-rounder did the job yet again.
More significantly, Maxwell got the wicket of his counterpart, Usman Khawaja, who seemed to be in a fine rhythm until losing his wicket.
It was the last ball of the seventh over by Maxwell, who bowled a flighted delivery to Khawaja to tempt him. The southpaw, batting on 28 off 19 balls, wanted to whack it over deep mid-wicket. However, the timing was not that he would have loved, and as a result, the ball went straight into the hands of Thomas Rogers, who was well placed near the boundary line.
While Maxwell was celebrating extending his arms, it was also the first dismissal of the ongoing edition.

However, the Heat are on the charge against Melbourne Stars, having raced to 180/3 in 17.1 overs. Colin Munro is the man on a mission, batting on 85* off 52 deliveries as of writing.
