Why Did Furious Sreesanth Drag Virat Kohli In His Fight With Gautam Gambhir?

Last night during the Legends League Cricket Eliminator between India Capitals and Gujarat Giants, former India teammates Gautam Gambhir and S Sreesanth engaged in a fiery on-field exchange. Gambhir, known for his aggressive style, struck Sreesanth for a six and a four in the second over but tension escalated after a dot ball. The verbal spat between the two at the non-striker end during the sixth over caught everyone's attention.

After the match, Sreesanth didn't mince words, launching a scathing attack on Gambhir, dubbing him 'Mr. Fighter' and accusing him of picking unnecessary fights.

Gambhir, who has a history of controversies, previously clashed with Virat Kohli during an IPL match and stirred controversy during the Asia Cup by responding to crowd chants. Sreesanth, referring to the Kohli episode, questioned Gambhir's respect for colleagues and criticized his evasive responses in broadcasting.

Gambhir Doesn't Respect Virat Kohli, Says Sreesanth

"What's the point of representing people if you don't respect your own colleagues? Even in broadcasting when he is asked about Virat, he never speaks about him. He speaks about something else. I don't want to go further in detail. Just want to say I am very hurt and my family is hurt and my dear ones are hurt. And the way he said things… I haven't used a single bad word or a single abuse. He just kept on saying words which he always does," he mentioned.

In response, Sreesanth expressed deep hurt caused by Gambhir's words and behavior, highlighting a consistent pattern of animosity. The strained relationship between Gambhir and Kohli, evidenced by their on-field clashes and Gambhir's reluctance to speak positively about Kohli in interviews, underscores a history of tension between the two cricketers.

As the Legends League encounter unfolded, it became evident that the Gambhir-Sreesanth rift is part of a broader narrative of interpersonal conflicts within Indian cricket.
