There have been plenty of rumours about whether Jasprit Bumrah will stay with Mumbai Indians or not for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The discussion began when Hardik Pandya, the former Gujarat Titans skipper, returned to MI last week after a blockbuster all-cash deal.

Bumrah was supposed to succeed Rohit Sharma at MI, but with Hardik’s return, his opportunity might no longer exist.

Hence, Bumrah was speculated to move to Gujarat Titans, his native state, to seek new opportunities. As a matter of fact, he unfollowed Mumbai Indians (MI) on Instagram, causing a stir.

However, this does not seem to be the case in reality. After turning 30 less than 24 hours ago, Bumrah started following Mumbai Indians again, indicating that he is there to stay, not leave.

Mumbai Indians too celebrated the moment, and on social media, they posted a Bumrah's photo, which mentioned:

'Silence is sometimes the best answer.'

Easily India’s No. 1 bowler across formats, Bumrah has been with MI since 2013, his first IPL campaign. In all, he has picked up 145 wickets in 120 matches thus far, having an economy rate of 7.39.

Meanwhile, the IPL 2024 auction will take place on December 19 in Dubai. With Bumrah staying, MI will have a much more boost to strengthen their squad in the bidding process.
