One of the most explosive white-ball players, Glenn Maxwell showcased his class in the recently concluded ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India, which Australia won.

With the next ICC T20 World Cup 2024 already on the all-rounder's radar, the Indian Premier League (IPL) becomes an ideal place for groundwork, where Maxwell represents Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

On the eve of the Big Bash League (BBL) 2023-24 opener on Thursday, where the 35-year-old will lead Melbourne Stars, opened up about his ambitions of featuring in the IPL. As quoted by ESPNcricinfo, Maxwell stated how he will play in the IPL until he can't walk, highlighting the importance the tournament has had in his career.

Here's what Maxwell said

"The IPL will probably be the last tournament I ever play, as I will play the IPL until I can't walk anymore. "I was talking about how good the IPL has been to me throughout my career; the people I've met, the coaches I have played under, the international players that you get to rub shoulders with, how beneficial to my whole career that tournament has been.

You're rubbing shoulders with AB [de Villiers] and Virat [Kohli] for two months, talking to them while watching other games. It's just the greatest learning experience that any player could ask for."

In 134 IPL matches, the RCB player has amassed 2,719 runs with 18 fifties and taken 31 wickets between 2012 and 2023.
