India begin their African safari, taking on South Africa in three T20Is, followed by as many ODIs and two Tests, which will test their skills to the core. The last time India toured South Africa, they lost Tests 1-2 and were clean-weeped in ODIs 0-3, which continues to haunt fans to date.

Under coach Rahul Dravid, India will aim to win their maiden Test series in the Rainbow Nation and start the tour with white-ball victories in T20Is and ODIs.  Ahead of the start of the series, former South Africa legend Jacques Kallis has praised the Indian side but have asserted that beating the home side is tough in their own conditions.

As quoted by PTI, the former all-rounder said that result in the Test series, will boil down to a few sessions, and expected a close contest.

Here's what Kallis said

"This is a good Indian team, but South Africa is tough to beat in South Africa. Centurion will probably suit South Africa and Newlands will probably suit India. I think it will be a good series, and it will come down to one or two sessions that one team might play better than the other. I think it would be a closely fought contest,"

While Rohit will lead India in Tests, Suryakumar Yadav will captain in T20Is, and KL Rahul don the skipper's hat in ODIs. The Test series gets underway from December 26, while the tour kickstarts from December 10 with T20Is.
