Canada batted first and Nicholas Kirton (49 for 35) and Shreyas Movva (37 for 36) guided the team to a fighting total of 137 runs which was decent given the condition at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium.

Canada produces massive upset in T20 World Cup

Canada surprisingly stepped up with the ball to put pressure on Ireland. With a couple of early wickets, the men in red were back into the contest as Ireland slipped to 59/6 after an embarrassing collapse.

Still, George Dockrell and Mark Adair stitched a 60-run partnership to take the game to the final over. However, Jeremy Gordon was clinical as he defended 17 runs off the final over to guide Canada to their maiden T20 World Cup victory.
