Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batting all-rounder Cameron Green didn't waste a second to thrash Chennai Super Kings bowler Shardul Thakur with back-to-back sixes during the 68th match of IPL 2024 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

RCB, aiming for a crucial win to secure a spot in the top four and qualify for the playoffs, saw Green starting his innings with great intent.

Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis had already laid a strong foundation for the team. When Shardul Thakur came to bowl the 18th over, Green was ready to pounce. He punished Thakur with consecutive sixes.

The first six came off a low full-toss delivery angled into the batter's arc at off-stump. Green got into a good position and heaved it over mid-wicket for a 72-meter biggie.

The second six followed a short and outside off-stump delivery. Standing tall, Green whacked it with full power, clearing the mid-wicket fence for a 74-meter six. Two sixes in two balls sent the crowd into a frenzy.

However, Shardul Thakur bounced back on the fourth ball of the over, removing Rajat Patidar, who had scored 41 runs.

RCB set a formidable target of 219 for CSK, with Ruturaj Gaikwad and his team needing to chase it down to secure a playoff spot. For RCB, the objective was to either restrict CSK to 17 overs or win by at least 18 runs to keep their playoff hopes alive.
