Faf du Plessis has led RCB with great distinction in IPL 2024 and was looking like a man on mission in a must-win game against CSK as well before an unfortunate dismissal at non-striker's end cut shot his promising knock.

Faf du Plessis was on 54 and was getting into his groove with some amazing shots, but on the final delivery of the 13th over, Santner bowled a full delivery of the line of the stumps and Patidar drilled it straight. 

The CSK spinner tried to stop the ball but only got the fingertips to it as the ball hit the stumps at the bowler's end. Faf du Plessis at the non-striker's end seemed to be inside the crease but once CSK appealed and the decision went upstairs the final result was out.

It turned out to be quite a shock for Faf du Plessis and all RCB supporters as the replays did not seem 100 percent clear that Faf has not grounded his bat inside the crease. The third umpire though after a lot of deliberations felt that Faf's bat was in the air and gave the decision in the favour of the bowling team leaving Faf du Plessis absolutely fuming as he walked off the field.

It was a big wicket for CSK as Faf du Plessis was well-set and RCB now need a big finish to put CSK in pressure during the second half.
