Team India discard Bhuvneshwar Kumar entertained the crowd with his brief cameo with the bat for Noida Super Kings in their recent outing. Turning up for his side against Meerut Mavericks in match number 12 of the ongoing UP T20 League 2023 season, the cricketer whacked a four-ball 14 to charge up his team’s total to a competitive 172-8.


Bhuvneshwar Kumar slaps two sixes in three balls

Bhuvneshwar Kumar arrived at the crease for Noida Super Kings at 157-7 to face the final over of the innings. The Indian veteran, known for his sporadic batting brilliance, smacked a six to open his account and launched another a couple of deliveries later to reach 14 from three balls.

Kumar eventually perished in his fourth ball, as Noida Super Kings finished their 20 overs at 172-8.

The bowling veteran last played for Team India back in November 2022 against New Zealand at Napier. The cricketer also played the preceding T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia, where the ‘Men in Blue’ crashed out of the semi-final with a 10-wicket defeat to England.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar has not been considered for Tests since January 2018 and for ODIs since January 2022. The 33-year-old, in a bid to make an all-round comeback into the national side, continues to ply his trade in various domestic competitions in India.
