Temba Bavuma to helm strong SA World Cup 2023 squad

CSA announced their World Cup 2023 squad on September 5, i.e., just days prior to South Africa’s home ODI series against the visiting Australians.

Temba Bavuma is set to continue as captain in the World Cup, which also marks his first prominent leadership assignment in an ICC ODI event. He will be leading an elite set of South African stars, including the likes of David Miller, Kagiso Rabada and Quinton de Kock.

Notably, a number of players selected in the side also possess loads of experience of playing in Indians conditions, courtesy of their IPL contracts with their respective franchises.

Apart from Rabada, his pace teammates Lungi Ngidi and Anrich Nortje have spent multiple IPL seasons on Indians pitches. Moreover, players like Miller, Heinrich Klaasen, Quinton de Kock and their IPL experience will bring much to the South African table in their quest of World Cup glory.
