New Zealand will be up against Uganda in the 32nd match of the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup, 2024, at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy, Tarouba, on June 14 at 06:00 AM IST.

Black Caps campaign faces a critical juncture as they prepare to take on Uganda after suffering two consecutive defeats in the first round and after Afghanistan has defeated PNG they are eliminated from the tournament.

They lost their opening match to Afghanistan by 84 runs and then fell short against the West Indies by 13 runs.

New Zealand's Journey So Far

New Zealand's batting lineup has struggled significantly throughout the marquee tournament. Devon Conway, Rachin Ravindra, Kane Williamson, and Daryl Mitchell have yet to find form, which has been a major factor in their disappointing performances.

On a positive note, Glenn Phillips has shown resilience and form, scoring 40 off 33 balls against the West Indies, a standout performance in their recent chase. Finn Allen also displayed promise with his aggressive batting, scoring 26 off 23 balls, which could be crucial against Uganda's bowling attack.

The likely New Zealand batting order will see the explosive opening duo of Devon Conway and Finn Allen, with Rachin Ravindra joining at the top.

Kane Williamson is expected to bat at his preferred number four position, followed by Daryl Mitchell and Glenn Phillips, who will look to bolster the middle order.

With Daryl Mitchell and Glenn Phillips in the lower-middle order, New Zealand can expect some stability and firepower towards the end of their innings.

New Zealand's bowling attack has been relatively stronger. Trent Boult has been exceptional, taking five wickets in two matches at an impressive economy rate of 4.75. He will lead the pace attack alongside Matt Henry and Lockie Ferguson, whose pace and movement can trouble Uganda's batsmen.

One anticipated change in the bowling lineup that can be expected is the inclusion of Ish Sodhi to replace Mitchell Santner who has not done well in the tournament, which could strengthen their spin department against Uganda.
