Sam Konstas has certainly come into limelight after an extraordinary tussle in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Vs India. Since that series, the youngster has been in focus and in the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL), the opener has performed exceedingly well for the Thunder. However, on Friday, he met Jack Edwards, who bowled a deadly yorker to clean him up.
In the clash between Sydney Sixers and Sydney Thunder, rain played a bit of spoilsport, but when the contest began, David Warner started with a couple of boundaries to rattle the opposition. However, on the other hand, Konstas struggled and looked scratchy for his brief stay at the crease. His stay ended when Edwards bowled perhaps the ball of the tournament and knocked his stumps with a yorker.
The Sydney Sixers bowler went full and straight and by the time Konstas could react and bring his bat down, it was all too late as it had crashed onto the stumps and the opener went back for a 14-ball 9 which derailed Thunder's momentum.
Battle for supremacy as table toppers collide
It is the battle between the top two teams as the Thunder and Sixers will aim to finish on a high ahead of the knockout matches. The Sixers and Thunder, both have won the same number of matches (4), but one game was washed out for the Sixers, and hence, they have an extra point.
Both the sides will look to seal the top spot, but rain continues to haunt the contest as for the third time, it has knocked on the doors as the players have walked off the field.
