The enthralling clash between Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi this Sunday (February 18) in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 saw Zalmi's high-class batter Babar Azam engage in banter with Gladiators speedster Mohammad Amir.

As the former Pakistan left-arm speedster sent down an unplayable bouncer above the modern-day batting giant's head, Babar seems to have said something to Amir when the bowler was returning back to his mark. The Zalmi right-hander's words triggered a wide grin on the face of Amir.

The amusing moment was captured in a clip that has since gone viral on Twitter as fans could feel the warmth the two cricketers carry between each other. Despite Amir criticising Babar's captaincy and substandard performances as an expert in media interactions during ICC World Cup 2023, there was no visible sense of animosity or respect lost between the two.

Amir, Babar Engage In Funny Banter

It was an afternoon game between the Gladiators and the Zalmi franchise played at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Banging the ball in short at great speed, Amir got the delivery to rise a little too high on Babar's attempted pull shot.

As Amir began to step back to his mark for the next delivery, Babar went near his former Pakistan teammate and told him something, which brought a wry smile on the face of the veteran pacer and even the Zalmi batter.

It wasn't the first instance that two popular Pakistani faces were seen joking and interacting with each other in the PSL despite representing different franchises. However, given the recent history, fans took heart from Amir and Babar offering smiling faces to each other.

During the World Cup in India, Amir, who was one of the experts for 'ARY News' in Pakistan, suggested Babar to step down from captaincy and focus on reviving his game. As it transpired, Pakistan's disastrous pre-semifinal exit forced Babar to resign from his leadership duties across formats.
