Axar Patel couldn't have done better than the stunning catch he grabbed to send the Australian captain Mitchell Marsh back to the pavilion in the T20 World Cup 2024 match at the Daren Sammy Stadium on June 24.

India posted a formidable target of 206, courtesy of Rohit Sharma's well-made 92 runs. However, the pivotal moment unfolded during Australia's innings when Kuldeep Yadav bowled a game-changing delivery.

In the 9th over, Kuldeep Yadav delivered a good length ball on the off stump that turned back in. Marsh, who had scored 37 runs off 28 balls, went on the backfoot and pulled it flat into the deep square region.

Axar Patel, standing a few yards inside the rope, timed his jump to perfection and landed on his back, taking a wonderful catch at head height.

This much-needed breakthrough brought India back into momentum, breaking the crucial partnership between Travis Head and the Australian skipper. Marsh, dejected, continued his walk towards the dressing room as India celebrated.

At the time of writing, Australia are at 115 for 2 in 11 overs, with India looking to capitalize on this momentum shift.
