Suryakumar Yadav had to depart after scoring handy runs for Team India in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 against Australia at the Daren Sammy Stadium on Monday (June 24).

The star T20 batter fell victim to left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc, who had earlier dismissed Rohit Sharma just shy of his century with 92 runs off 41 balls.

Starc's precise bowling claimed Yadav as his second wicket. Yadav scored a quickfire 31 runs off 16 balls before being dismissed. The crucial incident occurred in the 15th over of the match when Starc delivered a slower ball well outside off.

Surya, deep in his crease, attempted to guide it past backward point but ended up getting an outside edge. Australian wicketkeeper Matthew Wade completed a simple catch.

Starc's clever bowling left Yadav in visible pain as he shook his head and took the long walk back to the pavilion. At the time of writing, India is at 176 for 4 in 18 overs, with hopes still high for a strong finish.
