Arshdeep Singh was the star of the show for India in the first ODI when he picked a five-wicket haul and once again, in the decider at Paarl, he produced a much-needed breakthrough for India with a wicket of dangerous Reeza Hendricks. The South African opener was batting well on 19 and the opening partnership for South Africa was building nicely, before the left-arm pacer produced a perfect delivery.

It was a good-length delivery, in that channel around off. Reeza Hendricks tried to drive it on up, but the ball nipped across him and caught the outside edge of his blade, giving away an easy catch to KL Rahul behind the stumps. The Indian skipper made no mistake and Arshdeep Singh once again showed his class by producing a jaffa against the run of play.

India were indeed under pressure before that wicket as both the South African openers were playing quite freely. Earlier in the game, India scored 296/8 on the back of a scintillating century by Sanju Samson, his first in international cricket. Indian bowlers though need to bowl well if they want to win this game and series, and the middle overs will be quite crucial, especially how the spinners go about their business.
