The Trinbago Knight Riders and the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons are playing against each other in the eighth match of the CPL 2024 at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua. The Falcons batted first in the match after the Knight Riders won the toss in the game.

Imad Wasim was the star of the batter for the Falcons

The Falcons made a blazing start to their innings courtesy of  Fakhar Zaman and Justin Greaves. However, once the powerplay was over, the Falcons started to lose momentum in this inning. They also lost wickets at regular intervals and soon struggled to get to a respectable total. 

Just when it seemed the Falcons were losing their grip, Imad Wasim stepped up. His 46 runs off 29 deliveries were instrumental in pushing the team's total to a competitive 176/6 at the end of the 20 overs. 

Andries Gous and Parris did the repair job for the Knights

In reply, the Knights lost Sunil Narine for a duck in the second over and were under pressure. However, the other opener of the team, Andries Gous and youngster Shaqkere Parris, stabilised the ship. Both batters batted with composure and took full advantage of the loose deliveries whenever they were dished up.

Andries Gous treated Imad Wasim with great severity in the sixth over of the innings. The US batter slammed maximums of the second and third balls of the over and followed it up with a boundary. The over added dynamism to the progression of the Knight innings and kept them ahead of the game. 

However, the Falcons staged a dramatic comeback in the middle overs with the ball. They picked up some quick wickets, bringing the game to a thrillingly close position.
