Afghanistan’s all-rounder Nangeyalia Kharote brought his A-game in the third ODI against Bangladesh as he pulled off a stunning run-out that left fans cheering. Just as Bangladesh seemed to be getting a steady start, Kharote’s quick reflexes and pinpoint throw threw a wrench in their plans and got the Afghan side a huge breakthrough.

Bangladesh was off to a decent start, hitting 58/2 in the powerplay. Zakir Hasan and stand-in skipper Mehidy Hasan Miraz were out there, looking to build something after both openers fell right at the end of the powerplay. Things seemed to be steadying until Kharote’s fielding took over and changed the game.
On the second ball of the 11th over, Azmatullah Omarzai bowled a good-length delivery outside off, which Mehidy tapped towards backward point and went for a quick single. Zakir, committed to the run, darted across, but Mehidy hesitated and turned back, leaving Zakir stranded.
Nangeyalia Kharote swooped in, grabbed the ball, and hit the stumps dead-on at the non-striker’s end to send Zakir back for just four runs. The 20-year-old displayed his fielding brilliance by hitting the bullseye.
Bangladesh in Trouble, But Hope Remains
Meanwhile, at the time of writing this article, Bangladesh is 91/4 after 20.3 overs. Miraz is batting 22 whereas Mahmudullah is just settling in on 4. They’re trying to pull Bangladesh out of trouble, but it’s a difficult battle. With the series all tied up at 1-1, both teams will be fighting tooth and nail to win this one.
Afghanistan’s bowlers have done well to keep Bangladesh under control so far. Now, with Kharote’s fielding brilliance sparking the team’s energy, they’ll be looking to take advantage and press Bangladesh harder. If Afghanistan keeps up this pressure, they might just walk away with the series.
