Afghanistan are playing the Papua New Guinea in the 29th match of the T20 World Cup 2024. This match is being played at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba Trinidad.

Rashid Khan won the toss in the game and sent PNG to bat first. The Afghan bowlers did a great job as they restricted PNG to just 95 runs.

With the way Afghanistan have performed in the match, it was expected that they will overhaul the target easily. But the PNG bowlers decided not to die wandering. 


PNG deal early blows to Afghanistan


Semo Kamea and Alei Nao picked up the wickets of the two Afghan openers and gave a ride shock to the Asian team. Kamea bowled a inswinging delivery to Ibrahim Zadran, which he tried to heave across the line and missed. The ball clattered into the stumps and marked the end of his stay in the middle. 



In the very next over, Alei Nao followed this up with the wicket of the in-form for Rahmanullah Gurbaz. Nao bowled a good length delivery at the off stump and that was swinging into the batter. Gurbaz stepped down the track and tried to play a expansive shot on the on-side. But he missed the ball completely and it disturbed the wood work behind him to end his stay.
